About Radio Regent

Radio Regent is an online radio station broadcasting from Regent Park, Toronto’s most diverse neighborhoods. Since launching in 2012, we’ve been dedicated to amplifying local voices, independent artists, and underrepresented communities through music, talk, and cultural programming. Radio Regent began as a community radio show called RP+, produced by youth from Regent Park and broadcast on CKLN 88.1 FM, a campus-community station based at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). RP+ later evolved into Catch da Flava, a long-running youth-driven show that gave voice to local issues, culture, and music.

When CKLN ceased operations in 2011, the Focus Media Arts Centre — launched Radio Regent as a full-time online station. Building on the legacy of CKLN and Regent Park’s community platform, Radio Regent was born to keep grassroots local media alive and thriving.

What We Do

Radio Regent features a wide mix of shows — from rock, reggae, jazz, and electronic music to conversations about social issues, arts, and local culture. Our programming is created by volunteers, youth, and community broadcasters who bring passion and authenticity to every show. We reflect the diversity and energy of Regent Park, and remain committed to inclusive, community-powered media that informs, inspires, and connects.
